Plastic Tube Construction

Mono-layer Tube: simple packaging, convenient, low price.

Double-layer Tube: convenient use, soft touch, fine scalability and impact resistance and exceptional chemical stability. It can be applied to cleansing cream, hand cream, facial mask packaging and other cosmetic products packaging.

Five-layer Tube: compared with two-layer tube, it has better performance on gas barrier properties and toughness. It can prevent 0xygen and other gases sinking into, and stop dissolved aromatic compounds and other components sinking out effectively. lt is often applied to sun cream, hair cream, body lotion, ointment packaging and other functional products.

Plastic Tube Compositions

Plastic tubes are made from different compositions, such as LDPE, MDPE, HDPE and EVOH. They each have their own unique characteristics and properties.

LDPE

Low-density polyethylene is a thermoplastic  made from the monomer ethylene. Made in translucent or opaque variations, it is quite flexible and tough. This chemically inert, non-contaminating translucent tube meets FDA standards. LDPE tubes are cost efficient and are great for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal care and food products.

MDPE

Medium-density polyethylene is a type of polyethylene  defined by a density range of 0.926–0.940 g/cm3.  Slightly stronger than LDPE, tubes made with MDPE are primarily used for pharmaceutical, industrial, personal care and food products.  Costing slightly more than LDPE, MDPE tubes are more durable.

MDPE

High Density Polyethylene is less flexible than LDPE and MDPE, but has better physical and chemical properties, and withstands sterilization by boiling. HDPE tubes are widely used for products containing, water and chemicals. High Density Polyethylene tubes are produced from raw materials which meet FDA requirements. HDPE is resistant to many different solvents and has a wide variety of applications.

EVOH

Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Co-Polymer provides very strong barrier properties and is the most recommended barrier for plastic tubes. This is ideally suited to pack cosmetics both cream & gel based, food items and specific industrial chemicals having medium to high viscosity. EVOH is a co-polymer with outstanding barrier properties to gases such as oxygen (OTR), nitrogen, carbon dioxide and helium with a very low permeability (MTR-moisture transfer rate).  EVOH is ecofriendly and can be recycled easily.
